From Smart Ring Owner to Problem Solver
Like many of you, I invested in an Oura ring for the incredible health insights. I loved tracking my sleep, activity, and recovery. But there was one problem – it looked like exactly what it was: a fitness tracker.
I wanted to wear my ring everywhere – to weddings, client meetings, date nights – but I felt self-conscious about the tech look. I tried stacking it with other rings, but nothing worked. The Oura always stood out, and not in a good way.
As a professional metalsmith, I kept thinking: There has to be a better solution.
So I created one.
Meet Brooke Jensen

I’m Brooke, and I’ve been working with precious metals for years. In 2022, I founded Perma-Chain, a permanent jewelry studio in Minot, North Dakota, specializing in custom metalwork and permanent jewelry.
When I got my Oura ring, I immediately saw the opportunity to combine my two worlds: wearable technology and fine jewelry craftsmanship.
Smart Ring Jackets is the result of that vision – bringing traditional jewelry-making techniques to the modern smart ring.

WHY I CREATED SMART RING JACKETS
Solving a Problem I Actually Had
When I started wearing my Oura ring, I noticed something: I wasn’t alone in my frustration.
Other Oura owners were asking the same questions:
- “How do I make this look less tech-y?”
- “Can I wear this to formal events?”
- “Is there a way to dress up my smart ring?”
I saw friends taking off their rings for special occasions, missing out on the data they paid for. I watched people try to hide their Ouras with ring stacks that didn’t quite work.
As a metalsmith, I knew I could design something better – a jacket that would transform the Oura into fine jewelry, fit perfectly without gaps, be as well-crafted as any piece in a jewelry store, and let you keep tracking without compromising your style.
So I got to work.

The Other Half of the Team
My husband Shane is the second half of Smart Ring Jackets. While I handle the design and setting stones, Shane handles the casting and finishing of the rings.
Shane brings his craftsmanship expertise from years of construction work to the business, understanding that whether you’re building a home or a piece of jewelry, the details matter.
Together, we work side-by-side in our Minot studio. It’s truly a family operation – just the two of us creating each piece from start to finish. Shane’s support and partnership have been essential in bringing Smart Ring Jackets from an idea to reality.
