What is a Smart Ring Jacket?

A Smart Ring Jacket is a piece of fine jewelry designed to frame and elevate your smart ring. It slides onto your ring from underneath, wrapping around it with dual precious metal bands and a gemstone setting on top. Your smart ring becomes the centerpiece of a styled ring set – transforming from plain tracker to fine jewelry.

How does it work?

The jacket slides onto your smart ring from underneath. It features two bands that wrap around both sides of your ring, with a stone setting on top. Your smart ring sits in the center, still visible and fully functional, but now beautifully framed by precious metal and gemstones.

Which smart rings do your jackets fit?

Our jackets are currently designed specifically for Oura Generation 4 rings. Each jacket is custom-made to fit your exact Oura ring size.

Can I still use all my smart ring features?

Yes! The jacket doesn’t interfere with any sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, or smart ring functionality. Your ring works exactly the same – it just looks better.

Does it affect my health tracking data?

Not at all. The jacket wraps around the outside of your smart ring without covering the sensors. Your sleep tracking, activity monitoring, and all other features work perfectly.

Is it easy to take on and off?

Very easy! The jacket slides on and off in seconds. Wear it when you want the elevated look, remove it when you don’t. Many customers swap between different jacket styles for different occasions.

How do I know which size to order?

Simply order the same size as your Oura Gen 4 ring. If you wear a size 8 Oura ring, order a size 8 jacket. We craft each jacket specifically to fit your ring size perfectly.

What if it doesn’t fit?

We test every jacket on real Oura Gen 4 rings before shipping to ensure proper fit. If there’s any issue, contact us within 30 days and we’ll make it right.

What are Smart Ring Jackets made from?

Each jacket is crafted from genuine precious metals:

• Sterling Silver: .925 sterling silver (not plated) using premium tarnish-resistant alloy
• 10K Solid Gold: 10K solid gold (not gold-filled or plated)

All gemstones are hand-set using traditional bezel setting – never glued.

Is it real sterling silver or just silver-plated?

Real .925 sterling silver. We never use plating. Our silver is genuine precious metal using a premium tarnish-resistant formula.

Is the gold real or gold-plated?

Real 10K solid gold – not plated, not filled. This is genuine precious metal that will last a lifetime.

What stones do you use?

We offer both lab-grown and natural gemstones depending on the design. Each stone is hand-set using traditional bezel setting for security and durability. Available stone options vary by design and are shown when you select your style.

How is the stone attached?

Every stone is set using a traditional bezel setting – a metalwork technique where the metal wraps around the stone to secure it. We never use glue. This method is secure, durable, and perfect for everyday wear.

Will the silver tarnish?

All sterling silver can tarnish over time, but we use a premium tarnish-resistant alloy that stays brilliant much longer than standard silver. With occasional polishing (like any silver jewelry), your jacket will maintain its beautiful shine.

Is this handmade?

Yes. Every Smart Ring Jacket is individually handcrafted in our North Dakota studio by Shane and I. We use traditional jewelry-making techniques including lost-wax casting, hand-finishing, and hand-setting each stone. No mass production, no shortcuts.

Why does it cost $399+?

Smart Ring Jackets feature dual bands that wrap your smart ring plus a stone setting on top – essentially the metal content of two rings combined. A single sterling silver ring at a traditional jewelry store costs $800+, so our pricing actually offers exceptional value for the amount of precious metal and handcrafted work you receive.

Plus, each piece is custom-made to order, hand-finished, and created by professional metalsmiths in the USA.

Why is gold so much more expensive than silver?

Gold is a precious metal with significant inherent value. The raw material cost alone for gold is thousands of dollars more than silver. Additionally, gold never tarnishes, is more durable, and maintains its value forever – making it an investment piece and potential heirloom.

Can I buy multiple jackets?

Absolutely! Many customers order 2-3 different styles to swap between for different occasions – one for everyday, one for special events, etc.

How do I order?

Visit the shop section at the top of the page, choose your design, select your size, metal, and stone preferences, then add to cart. Checkout is secure and accepts all major payment methods.

Can I customize my jacket?

Yes! For each design, you choose:

• Your smart ring size
• Your metal (sterling silver or 10K gold)
• Your stone (options vary by design – natural or lab-grown available)

Can I request a custom design?

Currently we offer our curated collections. Each design has been specifically engineered to fit Oura Gen 4 rings perfectly. Custom designs are available with an extra charge.

How long does it take to make?

Each jacket is handcrafted to order and takes multiple days to create. Please allow 2 weeks from order to delivery for the complete creation, finishing, and shipping process.

Can I rush my order?

Due to the handcrafted nature and multi-day creation process, rush orders aren’t available. Each piece requires specific curing times and quality control steps that can’t be shortened.

Where do you ship?

We ship throughout the United States.

How is it packaged?

Your Smart Ring Jacket arrives in an unmarked box. Inside you will find custom packaging and your ring polished and ready to wear straight out of the box.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy. If you’re not completely satisfied with your jacket, you can return it within 30 days for a refund.

What if my jacket arrives damaged?

Contact us immediately at support@smartringjackets.com with photos. We’ll make it right – either by repairing, replacing, or refunding your order.

How do I care for my jacket?

Treat it like fine jewelry:

• Remove during workouts and water activities
• Store in the provided case when not wearing
• Clean with a soft cloth
• Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives

With proper care, your Smart Ring Jacket will last a lifetime.

Can I wear it in the shower?

We recommend removing it, just like any fine jewelry. While the materials can handle water, it’s best to avoid unnecessary exposure to keep it looking its best.

Can I wear it to the gym?

You can, but we recommend removing it during intense workouts to prevent scratches or damage – just like you would with any fine jewelry.

How do I clean it?

Use a soft jewelry cloth to gently polish. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners unless recommended by a professional jeweler.

What if it gets scratched?

Like all precious metal jewelry, scratches can occur with wear. Minor scratches add character and are normal. For significant damage, contact us about professional polishing or repair services.

Smart Ring Jackets are created by Brooke and Shane Jensen in our Minot, North Dakota studio. They are both  metalsmiths and Brooke is the owner of Perma-Chain.  Every jacket is handcrafted by us from start to finish.

Are these made in the USA?

Yes! Every Smart Ring Jacket is designed, cast, finished, and quality-controlled in our North Dakota studio. Made in USA by professional metalsmiths.

Is this a new company?

Smart Ring Jackets launched in 2024, but it’s backed by Perma-Chain  (est. 2022), an established jewelry studio specializing in custom metalwork and fine jewelry.
