The Six Steps
From CAD file to your finger.
Nothing about a Smart Ring Jacket is off-the-shelf. The design is drawn to your specific ring size, cast one at a time, finished by hand, and set with a stone in a bezel — never glue. Here's what happens between the order and the box.

Design
Every jacket starts as a 3D model in professional jewelry CAD, drawn to fit your specific smart ring size exactly. No universal sizing. No gaps. No wobble.
The model is then 3D-printed in wax — the first physical version of your piece.

Cast
The wax model is set inside a plaster investment mold. The mold is fired, the wax burns out, and molten sterling silver or gold is poured into the negative space it leaves behind.
This is lost-wax casting — the same technique jewelers have used for centuries. It captures every detail of the CAD model, down to the setting seat.

Finish
The raw casting comes out of the mold rough. From here, it's hours of hand-work: filing to shape, sanding through progressively finer grits, polishing to a fine-jewelry finish.
This is the step that separates a mass-produced casting from something you'd wear every day. Every edge is refined by hand.

Set
Your stone is placed in a bezel setting — a rim of metal is worked over the edge of the stone to lock it in place mechanically.
No glue. Ever. A bezel-set stone is held by the metal itself, which is why it's the setting jewelers use for pieces meant to be worn daily.

Test
Every finished jacket is tested on an actual smart ring of the correct size before it leaves the studio. Fit is checked. Stone security is checked. Surface is checked under a loupe.
If anything's off, it doesn't ship.

Ship
The finished piece is placed in custom packaging, polished, and boxed for shipping. It arrives ready to wear straight out of the box.
Lead time: 2–3 weeks from order to your door. Because every step above happens after you order.

Real metal. Real stones.
Nothing plated. Nothing filled. Nothing glued.
Sterling Silver
.925 tarnish-resistant silver. Genuine, not plated. Cast in solid form and finished by hand. Our entry point — designed to hold up to everyday wear.
10K Solid Gold
Solid gold — not filled, not plated. Cast in the same lost-wax process as the silver. Doesn't tarnish. Holds value. Made to last as an heirloom, not just a piece.
Stones
Lab-grown and natural options, hand-selected per piece. Every stone is set in a traditional bezel — mechanically secured in metal. We do not use glue in any part of the setting.

Brooke handles design and stone-setting. Shane handles casting and finishing.
Brooke has been a professional metalsmith for years and founded Perma-Chain, our parent studio, in 2022. Shane came to the bench from a construction background. Between them, every jacket is touched by exactly two pairs of hands from raw casting to the shipping box.
